Web Design: Obtaining A Domain Name
The first step in setting up a website is to obtain a domain name. The domain name is what you see in the web address directly before the ".com", e.g., "www.DomainName.com".
There are a number of domain name registrars through which you can obtain a domain name. Personally, I recommend using GoDaddy.com. They are the largest domain registrar, at least in part due to their low prices (they are the Wal-Mart of domain names). Registering a domain name for a year through them will typically cost less than ten dollars after all fees have been added. All of my personal domain names are registered through them and I have always received excellent customer service and never had any problems with them. You can click on the GoDaddy banner below to learn more.
Once you have obtained a domain name, the next step is to obtain a hosting service.
