Getting your own website up and running may be both simpler and cheaper than you thought.
The first step is to obtain a domain name. These will typically cost you less than $10 per year. The domain name is what you see in the web address directly before the ".com", e.g., "www.DomainName.com".
The next step is to obtain a hosting service, which is the place where your web pages are stored on the web and from where they are viewed by visitors. Hosting fees can cost anywhere from $4 per month up to however much you want to spend. Hosting fees are cheap enough these days that most sites do not require more than can be easily obtained for less than $10 per month.
